  5. ICE-9 (Integrated Communications Environment) is a turn-key system consisting
  6. of nine functions to help in the management of private networks. The nine
  7. functions include service order processing, directory assistance, cable, switch
  8. and frame management (including automatic assignment and load balancing of
  9. these facilities), work force management, equipment inventory, chargeback, and
  10. trouble ticket processing. Any number of telephone switches can be managed
  11. using ICE-9. The system will assign and maintain facility records for all
  12. customers of the network; typically students, employees, and/or
  13. administrative personnel. ICE-9 can also provide interfaces to the switch to
  14. collect and rate call records, and to connect, disconnect, and change service.
